Terms of use
Last updated: 9 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of the tutorwise.academy website and the Tutorwise web and mobile apps. By using Tutorwise you accept these terms and the Privacy policy.
1. The service
Tutorwise is a workspace for private tutors, their students and parents: lesson plans and the calendar, live lesson links and a shared whiteboard, assignments, file and video sharing, messaging, lesson packages and payment tracking, and a weekly summary for parents.
Tutorwise does not provide tuition; the teacher is responsible for the content and quality of lessons and for the agreement between teacher and student. Tutorwise does not collect or handle payments between teachers and students; the payments section is only for keeping records.
2. Your account
You must give accurate information when you create an account and must not share your password with anyone. You are responsible for what is done with your account; if you think it has been used without permission, write to us straight away. People under 18 may use Tutorwise with a parent's consent. If you use Tutorwise on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms.
3. Roles
The teacher owns the workspace: they invite students and parents, decide what each of them sees and can remove their access. Students and parents see only the lessons, assignments, messages and summaries shared with them. The teacher is responsible for obtaining the permissions needed for the student and parent information they add.
4. Your content
The files you upload and the notes, messages and drawings you create belong to you or to their rights holders. You allow us to use them to the extent needed to store them, show them to you and to the people you share them with, and run the service. Upload only content you have the right to share.
5. Unacceptable use
You may not use Tutorwise to:
- share content that is illegal, harmful or harassing or that infringes the rights of others,
- harm children in any way,
- spread malware or try to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or to our systems,
- send unsolicited bulk messages,
- overload or disrupt the service, or reverse engineer it.
6. Fees and subscriptions
Some features of Tutorwise are free. The price and scope of paid plans such as Tutorwise Pro are shown before you buy. Payments are collected by Lemon Squeezy, acting as the seller, and taxes are added to the price.
Subscriptions renew at the start of each period until you cancel. When you cancel, you keep the Pro features until the end of the period you have paid for. Refund requests are handled under Lemon Squeezy's terms; your rights under applicable consumer law are not affected.
7. Other services
Tutorwise connects to video call services such as Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Jitsi, to sign-in with Google, Apple and Microsoft, and to the app stores. Their own terms apply when you use these services; we are not responsible for how they work.
8. Availability of the service
We keep improving Tutorwise; features may change, be added or be removed. We run the service with care but cannot guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. The service may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance or unexpected problems.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages or for loss of profit or data, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid Tutorwise in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply in cases of intent or gross negligence, or to your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Closing an account
You can close your account at any time. If you breach these terms seriously or repeatedly, we may suspend or close your account; where possible, we will warn you first. When an account is closed, its data is deleted as described in the Privacy policy.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. We announce important changes on the website and, where appropriate, by email before they take effect. If you keep using Tutorwise after a change, you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Consumers may apply to consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts within the legal limits; the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country are not affected. For questions, write to info@tutorwise.academy.
